People don’t seem to get it, but at this stage of his career, Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t the player he used to be.
You can’t just play a through ball and expect him to outrun defenders anymore. You can’t rely on constant high crosses either, because he’s no longer the aerial force he once was compared to younger forwards like Haaland and others.
Personally, I think Ronaldo would be even more effective if he dropped a little deeper into a No. 10 role, linking up play, creating chances, and bringing the team into the game rather than being used purely as a lone striker.
