The very young, very trad priest who celebrated Mass at our parish this morning began his homily with, “Today I will be preaching on the first reading, from the book of Acts, also known as the communism reading.”
The whole congregation laughed.
Father then proceeded to explain, per soon-to-be-Blessed Fulton Sheen, that communism is not the way. Giving of ourselves, personal generosity, sharing economic wealth voluntarily with our brothers in Christ, and detachment from material goods are what Jesus calls us to do as His followers.
It was exactly the clarity the faithful needed. A refreshing and encouraging reminder that the newest generation of Catholic priests are ultra trad, conservative, theologically sound, and unafraid to preach what might be culturally unpopular.

Canon 9. If anyone says that the rite of the Roman Church, according to which a part of the canon and the words of consecration are pronounced in a low tone, is to be condemned; or that the mass ought to be celebrated in the vernacular tongue only; or that water ought not to be mixed with the wine that is to be offered in the chalice because it is contrary to the institution of Christ, let him be anathema.

All this hate for evangelicals when, statistically, we are the only bloc consistently holding it down for biblical marriage, the pro-life cause, secure borders, and every other issue. We are by far the most conservative and united in every political, cultural, and moral area. This is not statistically contested. Without the strength and cohesion of this group, conservatives lose everything. Consequently, the country loses everything. Not an exaggeration. So ask yourself: why would someone want to divide, destroy, and demoralize this stalwart group? The answer is obvious if the person is progressive, but it becomes a bit murky when the people targeting this group are on the “right,” right? Something to ponder

Nostra Aetate is part of the magisterium of the Catholic Church. It does not say that all world religions are salvific, or have a part in salvation.
He is undermining the Catholic faith among a group whose understanding of Church teaching is already weak and is causing scandal by pretending to speak with an authority he does not have.
