Six months ago, I faced a five person panel interview. After multiple rounds of phone screenings and exams that lasted for six weeks, this was the final in person stage.
This wasn’t just any job. The pay was excellent, but what really drove me was the realization that if I landed this position, I could retire in ten years. I loved the role that much. So I went all out in my preparation, and it showed.
About minutes into the interview, I had the entire panel engaged, everyone except one person. She was a woman about my age with a completely flat affect. Her expression was impossible to read. she had a perfect poker face.
Then she finally spoke. Her question was a tough one, but fortunately, I was ready for it. In fact, it was almost magical, she asked it word for word exactly as I had written it in my notepad.
She said, “I see from your resume that you’re military trained with active experience in ICU, ER, Psyc and MedSurg. You have everything… except the experience needed for this job.”
I didn’t rush. I took a deep breath, and a slight, sheepish smile formed at the corner of my mouth. In my head, I thought, Welcome to the party.
Out loud, I replied calmly, "Thank you for that question, Mrs. [Her Name].”
The moment I said her name, I saw her relax for the first time.
“Yes, you’re right, I don’t have direct experience in this specific position. But the last five years have built me precisely for this question and this role.”
I wrapped it up by saying, “I want to be the best registered nurse I can possibly be. To achieve that, I believe I need this experience. This is the final piece of the puzzle, and I’m convinced I’m in the right place, with the right people, to make it happen.”
She listened to everything, paused for a moment, and simply said, “Oh… thank you.”
That was it.
Last Thursday, I received the job offer, everything exactly as I had dreamed. And guess who volunteered to train me?
Yes… it was her.
Challenge accepted.

@taadelodun I scored 330/340 when I wrote this about 5 years ago. This is a great score. Nigerians are smart people and I pray someday, our values will be appreciated at home.

Someone said I was lying so I told my cousin to send me his GRE result.
We were still together during Eid in London arguing about guess what,

These smart young people should be getting opportunities for a great life in Nigeria.

@dammiedammie35 I couldn’t continue watching it because Bwala was not making sense. The videos he’s talking about wasn’t edited by Aljazeera. People on X did that. He should know this things but then it’s Daniel Bwala
English

Daniel Bwala finally breaks silence:🤐
“I have seen a lot of comments on social media saying I denied all the questions that was asked of me, that’s not what happened, question were asked and answered, after the interview, Al Jazeera went and did a fresh production of 8 minutes version of what they wanted to push and they did cut and join. They uploaded 49 minutes of the interview even though it was 1:19 minutes interview, they edited out 20 minutes. The interview was doctored and extraneous videos were imported in it”

I wanna buy churches like this that are shutting down across England.
So if you know a church that's for sale and potentially closing down, let me know. I wanna buy a church.
I don't care if it's got planning permission to return to flats redeveloped. I don't care.
I wanna buy it. I don't care how profitable the conversion will be.
If it was built as a church, I believe it needs to stay as a church.
I want to save churches like this one from being shut down and sold off to developers all across the UK.
I love making profit in property, but when someone's being built as a church to honour Jesus Christ, that's a no no.
There's revival coming in England and we need to keep our churches open. Ready for what’s to come.
Is this a good idea you would support?

This is one way to go about it.
But the people who get the best jobs barely do all these.
They use LinkedIn differently, and I’ll teach you EXACTLY how in three steps.
