Many Muslims are asking an important question about fairness and justice in Nigeria today. When young Muslim protesters in northern cities like Kano raised foreign flags during demonstrations, many were quickly arrested. Yet when others display foreign flags in different contexts, the response seems very different. As Muslims, we are not calling for conflict with anyone. Islam teaches justice and fairness for all people. What we are asking for is simple: the law should apply equally to everyone in Nigeria regardless of religion, tribe, or region. Justice must not be selective. If an action is wrong, it should be wrong for everyone. If it is allowed, it should be allowed for everyone. Let us raise our voices peacefully and wisely, stand for justice, and educate our communities about their rights. Justice strengthens a nation. Double standards weaken it.
