Two interesting findings: (1) Current density affects selectivity beyond concentration polarization. (2) CP layers are not as sharp as thought before.

Conventional cation exchange membranes are inherently divalent-selective, but only at a low current density. Cheaper or more selective membranes can unlock the potential of divalent selectivity, enabling interesting ion-separation applications and creative process design.

So many applications were suggested for membranes that reject divalent ions but let monovalent ions pass, but what about the opposite? In this new study with @TheElimelechLab we show that divalent-selective electrodialysis can be useful.

Everyone talks about monovalent-selective ion exchange membranes, but this new study explores the practical potential of divalent-selective electrodialysis in brackish water desalination. Read more in ES&T Letters: go.acs.org/7Db @NirWaterLab @TheElimelechLab

1/ On October 7, Hezbollah initiated a war against Israel. There is no Israeli 'occupation' of Lebanon, as Israel completely withdrew in 2000. Hezbollah's attack, which predates any criticism of Israel's aerial assaults in Gaza, appears to be a coordinated effort with Hamas,
