Two months went by… day after day… and no one came. I posted him back then. Showed how smart he is, how he knows sit, down, stay… how someone once took the time to love him and teach him. In March, he finally got adopted. And today… he was surrendered. His first day back at the shelter. First day back to the stress, the noise, the chaos. He was surrendered because his new family is moving to a place that doesn’t allow Pitbulls 😫💔 So now Kayo is right back where he started. A year old… and already knows what it feels like to be left behind. He’s going to sit here again, waiting… hoping… not understanding why. A 5-month-old puppy at the Euless Animal Shelter is at risk of being euthanized following an incident during a school field trip. According to reports, children were allowed to interact with the dogs without direct supervision from Animal Control Officers. The environment became loud and overwhelming, and Zak, still just a baby, reacted out of fear. A minor injury occurred, but thankfully, the child is okay. Zak has no history of aggression. Both a veterinarian and a professional trainer have stated that his reaction is not unusual for a young, frightened puppy in a chaotic situation. At just five months old, he is still learning and can absolutely thrive with proper training, structure, and care. This is not a dangerous dog. This is a scared puppy who deserves a chance. A rescue, Trinity GAP Rescue, has stepped forward and is willing to take Zak, provide training, and give him the future he deserves.
