OSSM introduced Tony Cornforth, president designate, to state legislators and dignitaries at a reception on Wednesday. Guests included Speaker Charles McCall (R), District 22. Speakers included students, alumni and Professor Cornforth, all of whom described the impact of OSSM.

Sarvesh R. attended the American Chemical Society conference in Indianapolis this week. He presented research on the analysis of an acid complex. Thousands meet at the conference to advance scientific knowledge. Congrats to Sarvesh and Dr. Rahman, coach. #acs #ossmstudents

Congratulations to William S., a 6th grader from Mustang. He won first place at the OSSM Middle School Math Contest. More than 130 students participated. The free competition promotes math skills and is a vehicle into the world of contest math. #mathcontest #ossmedu

Congratulations to Aaron P. and Krish M. who participated in Round 1 of the ACS Chemistry Olympiad last Friday. Based on their scores, they secured spots to compete for participation in the national exam, which will be held in April at OSU. #chemistryolympiad #ossmstudents

On Wed., a team of engineers from Oklahoma City-based CEC described several of their projects to OSSM students. Their vast range of work includes installing a new railing at the OSU stadium and moving a river. Thank you to Josh Dougherty, Bart Estes and Kyle Morse. #engineering

During spring break, Dr. Wallis visited her chimpanzee field site in Uganda. Recently two adult females joined the community, including Osa (in honor of OSSM). Osa is carrying her infant daughter. Dr.Wallis notes it is unusual for female chimps to transfer into a new community.

Every month OSSM hosts speakers for students to learn about specific professions. On Wednesday, March 22, Josh Dougherty, professional engineer, will discuss his projects and the use of drones in surveying. #engineering #drones #ossmstudents #ossmedu

OSSM chemistry dept. installed a state of the art Nuclear Magnetic Resonance tool. This sophisticated instrument will enable students to identify structures of products and deduce unknown reaction components. OSSM labs closely model professional research sites. #organicchemistry
