@moontreezone That’s a pork sausage gravy. It’s made with lard, ground pork, salt, pepper, flour, and water. Optionally also includes mushrooms. Poor people will supplement other fats or oils sometimes. Typically vegetable oil or crisco.

When I was in the US I didn’t really know what the “gravy” was and I asked if it was vegetarian and the waitress looked at me like I’d just asked if I could shoot her dog
