For decades, Gulf states eagerly sold out their sovereignty, turning their territories into a massive US and European military launchpad to encircle Iran on behalf of Washington and Israel. They traded regional stability for a so-called "security umbrella," but the illusion of Gulf neutrality is officially dead. Now that the US and Israel have ignited a catastrophic regional war, these host nations are acting shocked that their own refineries and gas terminals are going up in flames. You can't host the empire's bases and then cry foul when the blowback destroys your own backyard.

This situation highlights how little consideration appears to have been given to the security concerns and strategic input of Arab states, both before and after the conflict. The decisions by the U.S. and Israel seem to have been made largely without meaningful consultation or regard for the potential risks faced by neighboring Arab countries. If the conflict concludes following these developments, one lasting consequence may be the emergence of more open tensions between Iran and parts of the Arab world, something that was previously more contained or indirect before this escalation.

Pakistan reportedly may host US-Iran talks later this week. Islamabad has been pitching itself as a mediator in recent days, and the USG praised Pakistan last year for its willingness to play an Iran mediation role.

If true, this reflects Pakistan’s effective geostrategic maneuvering in the region, highlighting how it has managed to sideline India within West Asian political dynamics.

@raythewarchief That is a approx. $13 Billion revenue in three weeks. No such religious or otherwise tourism produces such revenue in such short amount of time in the world.

The United States appears to have been forced into a strategic choice between two major fronts: confronting Iran or sustaining its commitments in the Russia–Ukraine war. A prolonged conflict with Iran risks destabilizing Europe’s energy security while simultaneously increasing pressure on Israel, raising questions about how sustainable such a campaign would be. If there is a push to wind down hostilities with Iran within days, it likely reflects a recognition that the conflict is neither strategically viable nor economically sustainable, particularly for Israel, which bore the immediate regional consequences. The ripple effects extend well beyond the Middle East. An Iran conflict disrupts global energy flows, exacerbates Europe’s energy vulnerabilities, and could indirectly impact Ukraine’s position by shifting strategic attention and resources. At the same time, U.S. commitments in the Indo-Pacific, to partners like Japan, Taiwan, and Australia, could face strain as Washington’s focus becomes divided. The situation has also highlighted Russia’s resilience in global energy markets, demonstrating that it retains significant leverage over oil exports despite Western sanctions. Ultimately, the conflict underscores a broader reality: engaging Iran at this scale exposes structural limits in U.S. power projection, particularly when multiple geopolitical theaters are in play simultaneously. #OpEpicFury

There’s a new variable reshaping the balance in West Asia, and it isn’t Pakistan’s nuclear capability, but Iran’s growing emphasis on ballistic missile forces. The increasing centrality of precision strike and rocket forces is redefining deterrence, creating a different kind of strategic pressure that sits alongside, rather than replaces, traditional nuclear dynamics. For Pakistan, this shift carries important implications. It may be time to reassess aspects of its war doctrine, particularly in relation to India, in light of how modern conflicts are evolving toward missile-centric engagements. At the same time, greater attention to western-facing infrastructure and force posture could become necessary given the changing regional environment. Instability along the Afghan frontier remains a persistent concern. The situation there is fluid, and competing interests continue to shape how territory and influence are leveraged, adding another layer of complexity to Pakistan’s overall security calculus.

Iran massacred thousands of Sunni Muslims in Iraq & Syria. Yet, most Sunnis around the world still favour Iran over the Sunni Arab nations fighting alongside Israel against Iran. This isn’t about Iran or Sunnis. It’s about the failure of rich Sunni Arab states.

The ongoing Iran–U.S.–Israel conflict has once again highlighted the structural vulnerabilities in India’s energy security architecture, particularly its heavy reliance on maritime supply routes through the Indian Ocean. A significant portion of India’s oil imports depends on sea lanes passing through critical chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz, making it highly sensitive to regional instability. In any future conflict scenario involving India and Pakistan, these same sea lines of communication could become contested. Pakistan’s geographic position along the Arabian Sea gives it proximity to key shipping routes, which could pose risks to commercial traffic under wartime conditions. However, the ability to disrupt or blockade such routes would depend on multiple factors, including naval capabilities, air superiority, and broader international involvement. More broadly, the Indian Ocean remains one of the most critical arteries of global trade, with a large share of the world’s oil shipments passing through it.
