@dharh @OliviaStalvey This is true, without NASA the US wouldn't have a space program, but you should also remember that outside of space station maintenance and sending Satellites NASA hadn't engaged in any major missions for over 20 years before SpaceX's first successful falcon rocket in 2008 or 09

@OliviaStalvey I agree on principle. I will still continue to point out that NASA paved the way for SpaceX and others to do their thing.

SpaceX has helped NASA sure, but it was created to push the US space industry, which had stagnated ever since the Challengers explosion in 1986, forward and it succeeded making rockets and the parts for them much cheaper.

@Astrodynamicz @OliviaStalvey I fail to see the point here. SpaceX has run multiple missions including the one that saved the stranded astronauts that NASA couldn't. SpaceX has missions, in fact SpaceX is responsible for setting up the satellites needed for starlink and has plans for a Lunar base.
