outlier high predraft free throw % is prolly the most underrated star signal. part of this is linear bias: we default to thinking that 80% to 85% is the same jump as 70% to 75%. in reality, 80% to 85% FT represents a leap from the 80th percentile to the 96th percentile!

Via: Bleacher Report's @ZackBuckleyNBA : Opines that the Spurs should trade Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell plus a 2028 first-round pick (via SAS or BOS) and a 2030 first-round pick (via SAS, DAL or MIN) to the Heat for Bam Adebayo. “The loss of Castle would sting in the moment, but it seems inevitable one of him, Fox and Dylan Harper will have to go. @JohnchoVilla Glad I wasn’t tweeting about basketball 14-16. Would have had some freezing cold Kawhi takes. KD obviously a better career, but Kawhi’s peak in SA felt like the rise of a T10 player ever. Feels like a different universe now

Even if (understandably) you have KD comfortably over Kawhi at their peak. What Kawhi was/has been doing when he’s had even 80% of his knee is incredible. It wasn’t as effortless or longlasting but the dude absolutely put the fear of God into teams on both ends of the floor.
