Im using empathy to refer to a mental response.
I would describe what youre saying as using logic and curiosity to direct empathy in a more compassionate way.

The number of girls who have had top surgery in the UK is zero. Any mastectomy on minors would be for other reasons.
No idea how many young trans men have had it, that depends how you define "young". But if we're talking under 20 I doubt it's "thousands".

@speakoutsister And When I say "empathy" im not using it interchangeably with compassion. Im strictly referring to the basic human physical and emotional response of seeing someone experience something then instinctually feeling a simulacra of what you would feel in that situation

But i think some of it is people see these procedures and imagine it happening to themselves without trying to understand the reasons they actually want the surgery.
