Today, Star Magic's #BINI showcased talent at the Coachella music festival not only in entertainment but also in fashion.🌸 LOOK: The girls donned two sets of costumes with intricate designs! The beadwork represents traditional Filipino craftsmanship and the sea-inspired color scheme beautifully references the Philippines as an archipelago. I recently had to delete a post featuring an artist who was brave enough to share her political stance. For her safety, the space for all the hate comments and threats to harm her from #SaraDuterte supporters had to be deleted. It is disheartening how so many people these days get obsessed with their political biases that they throw hate toward those who see things differently. 😕 Malayu-layo pa ang #Halalan2028, kalma lang muna tayo. This made me think about what #Punch the viral macaque in Japan who clung to his orangutan plushie for solace has taught us. I’ve seen so many posts from people all over the world saying they cried, that they felt deeply invested, that their hearts ached for him. Maybe it’s because many of us know what it feels like -- to be bullied, to feel out of place, to be rejected, or to long for safety and acceptance. The need to belong isn’t defined by age, gender, or even species. The need to feel safe and loved is universal. KINDNESS is universal. And if we’re capable of feeling this much kindness and compassion for a small, vulnerable animal like Punch from afar, imagine how much better this world could be if we chose to extend that same kindness to one another.
