College isn't for everyone, and that's okay! Many workers prefer working with their hands, learning the work of the trades, & getting on-the-job experience. Joining the trades is a way to find a good-paying job that helps you grow as an individual, & your community around you.

It's been years in the making, but the Metro D line will be opening Section 1 of its extension this May! Thousands of hours of work have been put in by skilled workers using heavy machinery like these tunnel boring machines to make this all possible. 🚇

Every day across America, union workers are rolling up their sleeves and putting in the hard work to build up our communities. Progress would not be possible without them!

Mark your calendars! On May 8th, Section 1 of the D Line expansion will be open! We are so excited for these new stations to be accessible and to see all the hard work done by union workers. Projects like this are what help continue to make LA great and thrive!

After construction began in NV following the 2024 groundbreaking in Las Vegas, work is now advancing in CA for the Brightline West high-speed rail line. Investigation crews have started surveys and soil testing to gather the data needed before major infrastructure work can begin.

Teresa Baltazar says her work is a career, not a job. Not a dead end but an open door to new possibilities and opportunities. Teresa takes pride in her work, knowing that she is building up SoCal day by day. And is motivated by the other 1M women country wide in the trades.

Jessica Dale, a Plant Equipment Operator, finds her work the most rewarding when she can work with her hands. Her favorite piece of machinery to work with is the welding machine. We thank all the women in construction whose skills help make SoCal safer and stronger every day.

You can say that again! Every year, more and more badass women are joining the trades. Women make up roughly 11% of the construction industry, a number that is growing every year. Proving skills know no gender. Level Up, Build Strong. 💪 👷‍♀️
