Rupert needs to stop being drawn into retreading the feud with Farage and step over it. The more he responds in this way the more it looks to people outside the online bubble that Restore/Reform is just petty right-wing bickering. It gives room for Labour to present themselves as sensible and serious. At worst the Tories could use it to build themselves back up as the serious legacy alternative.

Zia Yusuf threw everything he had at the Makerfield by-election. He smeared candidates, played dirty politics and made himself the story. And what happened? He still couldn’t drag Rob over the finish line.
At this point, it’s fair to say Zia is becoming a liability to Reform UK. He can attack, insult and grandstand all he likes, but the electorate aren’t buying it. Let’s be honest: this is a man who would struggle to win election to anything himself.
