@JackStanley86 The Livramento deal surprises me. Although Trippier is at the back end of his career if Tino was going surely they would want Trippier to stay in case they can’t get a RB to replace Tino. To lose both is a gamble.

Strategy and skill that Ross Wilson in particular is going to have to prove he has. Obviously Howe can’t have full control again if he is still here. He needs help and to be part of a plan, not the whole plan himself. Big decisions coming up at #nufc.

It’s been clear for a while a couple of Tonali, Livramento and Gordon would go. Seems likely all three will leave now. If players don’t want to be there #nufc need to maximise the money and replace with players who do. The overhaul will be massive. It needs strategy and skill.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW | Lions FC General Manager - Rob Scanlon Lions FC’s General Manager says his role is about far more than results, it’s leading the club’s strategic direction while overseeing day-to-day operations across football, commercial and community programs. Working closely with the Board, the focus is on building a strong culture, supporting people, managing finances responsibly and positioning the club for long-term success on and off the pitch. What sets Lions FC apart in NPL QLD is alignment and people. From grassroots through to NPL, the club invests heavily in pathways, coaching standards, wellbeing and culture, while strong commercial partnerships and quality facilities allow consistent reinvestment back into football. That combination of stability, high standards and a family-first environment keeps Lions FC at the top end of the competition. On-field success is important, but without off-field stability it’s rarely sustainable. Strong governance, financial discipline and the right people behind the scenes allow coaches and players to focus purely on performance, turning short-term success into something repeatable year after year. Youth development sits at the heart of the club. Lions FC provides a clear pathway from MiniRoos and Academy football into senior ranks, with a shared football philosophy and an emphasis on education, wellbeing and life skills. The goal is to develop people first, footballers second, while creating genuine pathways to NPL, A-League and overseas opportunities. The club’s identity remains deeply rooted in its history, founded in 1957 by Dutch immigrants who used football to build community. That multicultural foundation continues today, including strong First Nations involvement, with inclusivity and belonging central to everything Lions FC stands for. Financial sustainability remains a key strength, underpinned by the club’s licensed venue with over 70,000 members. This provides stability and allows responsible reinvestment into football, facilities and community initiatives, while the club continues to diversify revenue streams for long-term security. Looking ahead, the next 3–5 years are hugely exciting, with a Master Plan featuring a boutique stadium, additional training pitches, an indoor football and events complex, allied health facilities and an on-site hotel, positioning Lions FC as not just a local hub, but a destination within Australian football. The message to supporters and young players is clear: supporters are the heartbeat of the club, and for aspiring footballers willing to work hard and commit to development, Lions FC offers genuine pathways both on and off the field. 💛🖤

@JackStanley86 You would assume a striker deal has been agreed for the second striker otherwise they would have held firm. Expect to see someone in to replace him. Agree the position was past the point of no return and best outcome for the club

Hopefully we can wrap a striker signing up today. But they won’t just get anyone. It will have to be the right deal for #nufc and not negatively impact the long-term. It’s the owners’ jobs to make this call. Strip out the emotion and think strategically. I trust them and Eddie.

Isak made his position at #nufc untenable. He was toxic and unprofessional. There was no way back. It’s a shame his behaviour has been rewarded with him getting his way, but the money is good and it made no business sense to keep him. I think this is pragmatic rather than ‘soft’

@JackStanley86 The big issue has to lie at who or who is not running the club. Still no Eales replacement after 10months “searching” and no Sporting Director to cap it off. Howe’s responsibility is in the pitch not everything else and is stretched way too thin

There is still time to get the required players in, but whatever happens this month there will need to be a review of what has happened this summer. Nobody at #nufc seemed to anticipate it being this hard. Even if much of it is out of the club’s control, the optics are bad.

@lee_ryder Yep, $1400 to take my son interstate for his first NUFC experience. To say I am unhappy is an understatement. So much for building a global brand, a lot of pissed off people tonight at full time.

@JackStanley86 Agree, QSAC is not the solution. The new stadium precinct seems the way to go and much more cost effective long term.

We’re not going to use this once in a lifetime opportunity to build a modern stadium in a great location. Instead we’re going to spend almost as much on a stadium renovation that doesn’t need it and a terrible temporary plan at an inaccessible dump in the middle of nowhere 👏🏼👏🏼
Steven Miles@StevenJMiles

Queenslanders have made it clear to me they do not want to spend billions on new stadiums. We will not demolish the Gabba.

We won’t be building a new mega stadium at Victoria Park either.

@JackStanley86 Unfortunately Jack, Murdoch doesn’t have a vested interest in the game here so they will always push the sports he is fine nancially unvested in like League, AFL and cricket. His News Corp drives the narrative!
