A Sudanese woman says she’s embarrassed of the underdevelopment of her country, South Sudan.
She says, “If you go there right now, there’s only one city that’s developed and it’s the capital.
The rest of the cities look like the 1960’s.
The tribalism over there is absurd.
Our own president can’t even form a complete sentence in English.
Yes I’m embarrassed”.
If she’s comparing the development of her country to Western standards then she will forever remain embarrassed.
-Grok: “The average IQ in South Sudan is 60 to 65.
-In South Sudan, only about 2% of roads are paved, electricity access is tiny (often diesel generators), and maintenance is poor — leading to rapid deterioration even of foreign-built projects”
South Sudans underdevelopment is self inflicted caused by their corruption, mismanagement of funds and constant civil wars.
The US has sent BILLIONS of dollars in USAID to them since their independence in 2011 and gets hardly anything in return.
Almost ALL of their infrastructure was built by foreign countries.
China has put BILLIONS of dollars into South Sudans infrastructure and only gets a small amount of oil in return because most of what is/was built gets destroyed by their civil wars.
No matter how much money is sent or how much infrastructure is built, they will ruin it.
At some point they have to come to terms with the fact that they simply cannot build or maintain European standard infrastructure or societies.
It’s not “racist” to acknowledge that, it’s just the truth.
I believe they’d be much happier in life if they could just be content with what they are actually capable of building instead of chasing unrealistic standards.
