I just gotta say that gatekeeping great music is the most toxic shit ever. If you think a band you love is only for people you’ve deemed cool then you’re an elitist dickhead. You sound like a republican.

My favorite 311 songs are the ones where Hexum breaks out his Swedish Chef impersonation.

My favorite part of #311Day is getting to see the deep cuts! Their catalog is filled with so many good songs that really shine in front of a large rabid fan base!

Just a gentle reminder that Lindsey Graham lives 1.5 hours from my doorstep. He NEVER CAME TO VISIT US in Western North Carolina a SINGLE TIME after Hurricane Helene. Not once. He has flown to Ukraine 9 times and tries to visit Israel “every 2 weeks”…

@Steven_Hyden Love the idea of Lorne Michaels demanding they play a 25 year old snoozer, but make it slower??

Mossad has been conducting assassinations around the world for decades. Last month the US kidnapped a head of state. When it comes to Iran the only reason the regime has stayed in place for nearly 50 years is because Israel and the US prefers bombs and the message they send.

Barack Obama reached a deal that prevented Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. Trump ripped up that deal. Now we are at war with Iran to prevent it from getting a nuclear weapon.

This was always the way it was going to go. All industry in the US is ultimately downstream of the business of war. This is the strategic culmination of all those stupid Ghibli photos, the creep of that awful writing style into every corner of our lives, all of it was for this

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.

If we’re friends in real life and you use, or God forbid pay for, ChatGPT can we please discuss this offline in the coming days? I feel like there are a lot of people tacitly supporting the fall of mankind and I’ll do everything I can to help steer them towards the off-ramp.
