You are missing the point. You cannot make a game for everyone. The point is to reach out to potential audience of your game and get them excited. 99% of the time, it would be the non-audience who complains about something. You cannot sell a game to somebody who is not your audience. The game mentioned clearly have a demographic, but the word clearly didn't reach them. A demographic that plays games like Flower, Journey, Abzu, etc. They are among the mainstream audience itself, but perhaps not in the PC crowd, more in console space if I were to say. The answer to this is not "just market the game" either. This is why big studios throws multi millions to promote their games, just to get the word out, to get the reach. For indie devs, esp solo, this help would require the help from community of other developers as well as audience who support the indie community. Even if the game isn't for you, it doesn't take much to share it or talk about it with someone whom you think it might be a fit for. There are various social sites, reddit, etc that can help with some exposure. A little help can go a long way. Every day thousands of games come out. A huge portion of this being simply junk. The audience can help filter these and bring light to some genuinely good games. There is a trend in YT now where you purposefully play terrible games just to make scared faces and jumpscare content. What good does that even do. Awards are being given to games with 10s of millions of dollars in budget calling themselves indies. What good is that doing? The more I think about this, the more what Satya Nadella said start to make sense - "The main competitor of Xbox / Microsoft is not other game platforms, its tiktok" - because it seems now that people only want to waste time and not experience it. So products have to appeal in such a way that it can excite the zombie brain. All these doesn't leave me optimistic for the future. But you gotta do what you gotta do at the end of the day and hope for the best, while preparing for the worst.

So my game flopped after 3 years of work...😢 Since its release on May 26th, I've sold 77 copies... Streamers and curious gamers loved it. I have 2800 wishlists, 800 of which are from the release date.... What do you think? Be honest.🙏 store.steampowered.com/app/3239940/Me…

Suggestion: Make Language Settings Easier to Find for International Players Hi, When I launched the game for the first time, the main menu was displayed entirely in Korean. Since the "Options" button is also labeled in Korean ("옵션"), it may take non-Korean players some time to find the language settings. I would like to suggest a few possible improvements: Automatically use the language selected in the player's Steam client. Display a language selection screen on the first launch. Use universally recognizable icons (such as a gear icon for settings or a globe icon for language selection) so players can access these menus regardless of the current language. Many international players may not be able to read Korean, and some might mistakenly assume that the game does not support their language before they find the settings menu. The game already supports multiple languages, so making the language selection easier to access would improve the first-time experience for international players. Thank you for your hard work, and I hope this feedback is helpful.

@SCFactory09812 That looks like a really interesting take on TD games. I like what I'm seeing... That gets the game a wishlist for sure and I'll check out the demo as soon as I get chance. 🙂

🎮 Developers, show me your games! Every two weeks I will open the floor to game developers and publishers looking to get their games seen. I'm currently looking for: 🏰 Tower Defence Games 📈 Incremental Games ⚙️ Idle Games If your game fits into one of those genres, drop it in the comments below! I'm especially interested in newly released games and upcoming demos, but honestly, if your game is 10 years old and I've never played it, I still want to see it. The best finds may end up featured in gameplay videos on my YouTube channel, helping introduce them to a wider audience. And if you're not a developer, feel free to browse the replies—there's usually a treasure trove of great games hiding in these threads. 👇 🎥 Channel: @DeTomPlays #Incremental #TowerDefence #Towerdefense #Idle #Gaming #GameDevelopers #GameDevs

@EracuStudios If you think it’s necessary, you should definitely do it. What I meant is that while we can always improve the game, it will never be perfect. In the end, we just have to launch an unfinished game.
