@nectariina_ I think Charles would either copy or tweak Lewis' setup instead of following the sim but, this weekend Charles started with the sim result and made changes on his own. However the changes Charles made on his own ended up being similar to the ones Lewis did.

@HedgehogR4cing @awkwardstray They did themselves, both Toto and Zak already publicy said they dont need him. Max might as well retire he cant go anywhere for 2027 and regs change again in 28 so the team will have to get used to him and regs vice versa.

He’s back. The fastest qualifier in F1 bar none. You all wrote him off after a couple of tough weekends, but when he gets it right, there is simply no one faster than Charles Leclerc. 💪🏼

I’m wondering if Ferrari have actually run the ADUO1 engine in a conservative mode last week due to thermals and data collection, and this week it is turned up a bit towards full tilt for harvesting. could’ve been an interesting season for Ferrari had they shown up with this as the starting base engine and deployment understanding, and had a single ADUO update for the 2% mark, in essence the position Mercedes find themselves.
Formula Data Analysis@FDataAnalysis

Ferrari did a miracle with the ERS strategy, allowing HAM to achieve a brilliant pole! 😲 LEC and HAM could stay full throttle more than any other driver, maximising the energy they could harvest. They then deployed it to achieve the best top speeds BY FAR! Excellent traction/grip → more harvesting opportunities It's also possible that they turned the new PU slightly up Completely unexpected, honestly! #F1 #SilverstoneGP

@the_zb_ With Max potentially on the move which top team would drop their driver for Bearman over Max? Bearman has nowhere to go unless aston martin gets it together and alonso retires

This makes complete sense from all parties. Lewis is happy, the team is fully focused on him, and he is performing at a high level. This seems like a done deal. It’s just unfortunate how the timing works out for Bearman, who Ferrari in all honesty should now lose. I was quite excited for him in a Ferrari, but the timing isn’t going to work out. It would be a terrible decision from Bearman to remain patient and waste more years in Haas, he needs to push hard for the first open seat at any competitive team so he can prove his worth. Waiting could be career defining, in a bad way. It causes you to get stuck, and you become easier and easier to pass over for promotion. Drivers must strike while the iron is hot. I can very much see that 2 more years with Lewis could come at the cost of Bearman. That will have been completely worth it if it delivers a championship. If not, it will be a hard call to stomach long term, if Bearman demonstrates what I think he is capable of. But that is the hard position they are in, trying to maximize the present while still planning for the future. Ollie has also surely seen that his prospects for success are also likely stronger outside of Ferrari, which plays into the decision he has to make as well. The next “long term” junior for Ferrari then shifts to Câmara, who also looks very quick.

@effonecasualfan Its not that Max cant move, he has no where to go. Ferrari is stuck with leclerc and Lewis is Lewis. McLaren already said no. The other teams arent good enough. Lewis approaching red bull in 2013 is not a 4x wdc and 2023 was Anthony not Lewis looking for a seat.

Yeah, this is a poor discourse, Max can move to different teams, he's just looking for the right move. He was offered a Billion dollar contract by Aston Martin btw just last year. That would still be on the table if he's interested. And the new kids might not know this but Lewis also went through something similar in his career when he approached Red Bull and was told his services weren't needed...... it's just the sport that we're a part of. The unfortunate problem is the nonsensical proclamations by each fandom that their favorite driver is the greatest gift to humanity and will walk into any team.... Well..no they aren't, and no, they won't

@splizzz_ @mouique_ratus @FerrariF1FRA did Ferrari degrade more or was lewis just pushing harder because he was on a different strat. I keep seeing comparisons of Ham to Ant/Rus. Shouldn't the comparison be between Lec and merc?

(formulapassion.it/f1/f1-news/nor…)

@ForzaDeadpool44 No, that’s not. It’s a Ferrari software issue that conflicted with Leclerc’s braking system. That’s why he had to switch to the one used by Hamilton, which is currently the only setup that works properly with the new software introduced between Miami and Canada

I’m sure this will make some people mad... 😅 The “Charles only” fans need to do the same thing that the “Lewis only” fans needed to do: Drink a bit of objectivity juice, and call things as they are, not just from the perspective of your fandom. I often get lambasted here by driver fandoms, because people do not like reading the truth. I don’t care to placate anyone. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That was a masterclass from Lewis, and was why he was signed. He has full control of the team now. It was a fourth failed weekend in a row from Charles. The updated car is a huge positive for the team, and Lewis is playing the politics game masterfully to poise himself as the source of all positivity. Of course, we know the drivers don’t design cars, and the engineers deserve all the credit there. But he is rewarding their full commitment to prioritizing him with all development and internal favor after his mega-signing. That’s one thing Lewis does very well, and it may be his biggest asset. He knows that being in the best car at the right time is the path to success, and that diminishing your teammate’s standing then makes the pathway clear for you, making it less of a direct battle. He is being a masterful politician to secure team backing vs his teammates even before the results come, which in turn helps him achieve the results while diminishing the fight from his teammates. He’s always been very savvy at doing that, and when your team delivers a title challenging car that guarantees one of the drivers in that car the championship, you are well off because your teammate is already largely neutralized internally via politicking. Tip the cap to him for taking advantage of the Ferrari contract situation and Elkann’s eagerness to recreate this environment from Mercedes for him, and ultimately shifting the team away from Charles before the results ever came, specifically so he could deliver them. It’s ok to acknowledge that Lewis is carrying the team at the moment, just like Charles carried the team last year. It will probably shift around more throughout the year, but Charles simply doesn’t fit this regulatory cycle any more than Lewis fit GE. The non-racing components of this regulation cycle, where the aim is to not push and drive within the limits for energy maximization, is foreign to Charles. He may simply not be able to adapt to them in order to deliver clean execution. Lewis clearly has. It’s also perfectly reasonable to accept reality, and acknowledge that the team should strongly consider sacrificing Charles this season and throw all efforts towards Lewis for the remainder of the year in strategy priority, to fight for this WDC. It was Charles’ dream to return the title to Ferrari first, but his performances haven’t lived up to that when the opportunity has now arisen. Lewis is the one in form and the only one in a position to compete for the championship, if Merc have reliability woes. The gap is too large for Leclerc to do so, or to finish ahead of his teammate. You simply can’t recover from 2 DNFs, it is what it is. Charles is at a career crossroads here, which is very correct to state. He is a great talent, who like Lewis in GE, will be eager for these cars to be gone. But has a small chance to fight back and course correct now, but the environmental change within Ferrari will limit his effectiveness in that. He needs to sharpen his execution, yes, but also his political prowess. Economically, once Lewis was paid on such a large deal the future was set in stone for Leclerc as second priority in Maranello in 2024, and his only option is to beat Lewis in a realm shifted to be suited to him. That will be the hardest task he has faced. The unknown is which of them if fully prioritized, would actually have the higher ceiling? Unfortunately for Charles he has never been able to secure that level of support within Ferrari and has always had to battle without the full backing. As I said at signing in 2024, that will continue with Lewis here now.

i really like and respect lewis a lot but the way he's using the whole brake situation to make himself look better just doesn't sit well with me. his solution doesn't even bring better performance, it's just that the car was developed that makes brembo unstable.
Liv@liv16_liv

Charles: “It was a decision we made as a team to run different car setups. The last two weekends have been more difficult than I expected, and now we’ll be moving in Lewis’s direction.” Lewis: “Charles and I tested my brake specification. He didn’t want it.” 👍🏼

@wdclebbl P2 was slim but possible if they pitted CL 1 lap later under safety car, and the only reason that was possible was because LH had a fraudulent 5 sec penalty. No chance for CL to overtake LH at Monaco because of the track itself.
