People have been asking why I stopped doing Rocket League content. This is not a brag post, but I thought I'd give some insight on the financial differences between Streaming games (RL) for fun and hoping for Subs/Donations Vs. Streaming for Fun with Actual Products for sale.

Friend from my LCS just told me that the entire case of Prismatic booster bundles were bought and not a single SIR was pulled. That’s 10 boxes, 60 packs, 0 SIR Hard to believe Pokémon even released a set that’s *this* hitless. It’s almost like they’re scamming us 😆

@randomletters6_ @jerphisch @jeffthrowcards Just adding, no shop ever made profit at $90 on booster boxes. Standard distro pricing is approx $93.50 before all the fees that come along with it.

Shops are now listing booster boxes that have a msrp of $161.64 for $250+. So insane to me. Not to mention these shops get the booster boxes for way under $161.64 from pokemon distribution.

Withhold those fees in the refund? As long as it’s in my refund policy?

I dropped Journey Together at MSRP this morning and my website for the first time got raided by bots. I had to cancel like 70% of my orders due to one bot in particular. Does anyone know the legality of me refunding the bots? Since credit card fees aren’t refunded to me, can I…

@itspokeminh @PokemonDealsTCG Yeah I guess it ultimately affects them if the stores aren’t selling out because then they won’t order more. But if they stopped making products like combined powers and Paldea adventure chests they’d be okay 😂

boxes being overpriced for a period of time helps them in the end. So that when they release the second wave, it'll still be sold out instantly, especially even on shelves. meeting the demand right from the start or overprinting even just a little will make it seem the product will be readily available and people will not be as hyped, then demand less as a result.

This set in 5 or 10 years will probably be one of the best holiday sets ever, BUT it is not worth $100 per box right now. Shining Fates is still available on Pokemoncenter. Crown Zenith is still around 60 per box. Paying $90+ for this box is crazy. 😂

@PokemonDealsTCG @itspokeminh So it’s really going to be the online stores and your local stores with the best margin. Don’t pay $90 a box, but also remember that these stores have had atrocious margins this year with a lot of bad sets. With distro BBs being like $95 then selling for $100 sucks (MSRP $161)

@PokemonDealsTCG @itspokeminh My only thought on this is does Pokemon even care about the market for these boxes? They sell to the super distribution centers for the same cost as any other ETBs, and those distro centers (the good ones) are still selling these ETBs for $30 a piece before fees.
