@nkulw Our ideas of what makes a person good are NOT the same, and I give no weight to your judgment of me because I do not value what you do.

hatred of immigrants is a sign of moral weakness. one of the more obvious tells that you're just not a good person.

@Obsessive_Gamer It should push the age rating. It should never have been rated E to begin with. many parts like the well and shadow temple are darker and more bloodie than anything in Twilight princess which got the T rating.

As much as I would love to see the blood stay in Ocarina of Time remake's Shadow Temple, I extra expect it gone since it would look quite a bit more realistic (and could push that age rating). Which is a shame as this temple tells a whole dark story of Hyrules royal family

@GameChap It's actually because the 20 fps is much closer to the 24 used in film than it is to 120, 60, or even 30 fps, which is done so because this most closely mimics the same motion blur that we experience in real life.

Many Nintendo 64 games, including Zelda Ocarina of Time, run at 20-30 FPS or even less. So why are they so smooth and playable in our memories? - 📺 CRT TVs give superb image quality. - 🤔 We tend to believe that FPS matters far more than it actually does. - 🎨 Art is timeless.

@molantpk_ I think what they should do is keep the tennis match as the opener, but add a second phase that's way more in line with the TP and TotK fights. I love OOT but it was always a bit odd that ganondorf went down so fast before going beast mode.

Uma das coisas que mais quero ver melhorada no remake de Ocarina of Time são as batalhas contra os chefes, principalmente Ganondorf Depois de Twilight Princess e Tears of the Kingdom, a régua ficou alta demais pra luta final continuar sendo uma partida de tênis

@steelybel The dumbass community note says the 3ds shot is during the lightning, and while that may technically be true, I rewatched the whole scene and between the flash and no flash the brightness of ganon himself only changes very slightly and you can see him the whole time clearly.

@bcallaghan you can also use the hookshot. You can also also shoot his eye with either when he rushed you instead of slashing him, which i always do and always end up getting hit multiple times even though i know i can just shoot lol

@chrisheatherly You're argument is sound, but it's also worthless, because it isn't and never has actually been about protecting children. To the extent it IS about children, it's curating what info they are allowed to intake based on what the government wants them to know so they vote "correct"

I’m actually a child online safety expert and was one of the pioneers in this space with Club Penguin and so I feel uniquely positioned to critique this. The groomer problem is real but it’s also vastly overstated. The far larger issue we saw at Penguin was suicidality or reports of sexual abuse in the home. There is no solution for lazy/bad parenting. You can implement all the ID laws you want but if parents are going to just hand kids their phones unlocked, those kids will have access to all the same things the parents have unfettered. What I found is that these draconian safety laws actually make it harder to be an honest operator of kids apps because on one hand it’s so much legal risk and so much user friction that it simply becomes uninvestible as a business. Parents will just lie to let their kids use the unfettered internet. For example, I have a friend who works in mobile gaming who has two kids, one above and one below the age limit but separated by just 2 yrs, and the two wanted to play and chat together on Roblox - which is reasonable. To do this, he just verified that his younger kid is old enough for the chat feature when he’s not. This happens all the time and will happen with these laws to. How far do we want to go with this? Scan the face of the user in real-time to make sure it’s not a kid using the device? We could do that but it feels like a massive unwanted intrusion of privacy. That’s how you know this law isn’t about kids. COPPA and GDPR-K and so forth already make it illegal to allow chat and other grooming vectors to kids. What’s really being done here is trying to eliminate online anonymity. And this is a far bigger issue that goes to core speech rights because if you cannot criticize the govt anonymously and if wrong speech is a crime then it becomes easy to identify all the detractors of the govt in power, and ban, fine or jail them for speech crimes. Starmer has already been doing this and he wants to do it at a much bigger scale. Starmer won’t even acknowledge the problem of actual grooming gangs in Britain’s neighborhoods but he’s worried about online grooming? No he’s not, and this hypocrisy gives away the game. What he wants is to kill online anonymity so he can enforce censorship of his unpopular policies. No politician should have this power.

My first instinct was to support the UK’s social media ban for under 16s. Protecting children from grooming, exploitation and harmful content seems like common sense. But I’m seeing a lot of opposition to it, so I’m genuinely curious as to why? One thing making me second guess is that platforms like bluesky are exempt, while at the same time there’s a push to let 16 year olds vote. To me that looks less like child protection and more like controlling where young people get their information. Interested to hear other perspectives.

@LordLandoXVII The animations on ganondorf during his transformation is so much more energetic and detailed in the Original, and he doesn't just fall down out of the sky, he flips down intentionally.

@LordLandoXVII It's not even just the lighting, every aspect of the original just works better, the models, animations, lighting, effects, actually seeing the lighting in the sky, even the lower frame rate.

I swear to god I see those two pictures more than my own dog but Never a comparison with the scene itself: now, considering one was meant to be played on a tv and one on a handheld, it's as clear as the sun they had to *heavily* compromise A thing the newer one won't have to do

As much as I loved the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time I hope the lighting of the final battle in the new version on Switch 2 is closer to the N64 version. The darker lighting was so much more atmospheric and perfect and much more thematically fitting

@KathAntonio7 This is why I don't think even the OG devs like Aonuma understands Zelda anymore, even they think BotW and ToTK was going back to Zelda 1 roots when they have almost nothing in common aside from a vague connection with an "open world".

Even in Zelda 1 you had to do some dungeons before others. And that wasn't a technical limitation, but an active choice by the devs

@danielreen with a small amount of remaping, any gamepad can feel more than good enough for n64 games. map c down to the right bumper, c up to right joystick up, c left and c right to the top face button and right face button respectivly. map Z to the left trigger and R to the right trigger.

@tyrranKPX Not wanting every game to have the same art style and thinking this art style is dogshit while also claiming you don't really have a standard for a good art style in games are very very different things.

@lebantineala I don't think they will half ass it, but I don't think Nintendo or any of the people who made these games in the past understands what most people liked about these old games.

The OOT remake is - the first zelda game exclusively on Switch 2 - the first true remake of a 3D Zelda game - a remake of the most critically acclaimed video game of all time as well as one of the most iconic ones and people seriously think Nintendo are gonna half ass it, lol
