William Gibson is also a boomer who had never touched a computer before he wrote Neuromancer. I imagine his vision for the Cyberpunk genre would've also been more bleak if he had grown up with TikTok algorithms and cars that need a subscription to start up.

Maelstrom is defined by their desire for chrome above aesthetics, often times at the expense of aesthetics so that they can push into more extreme modifications.
