The teenager, from Didcot in Oxfordshire, is suspected of sharing ISIS propaganda on terrorist attacks in Paris as well as footage of battlefield explosions and killings. It is alleged he had 17 knives, including machetes, in his bedroom when his home was raided by counter terrorism police on 12 March. Hazel Templeton abused the then 12-year old boy in the Caldicot area, when she was herself 39-years old, Newport Crown Court was told by prosecutor Jeffrey Jones. The paedophile, now aged 80, was found guilty by a jury after a trial of four counts of indecent assault on a male under 14. She had denied all the allegations against her and did not give evidence in her defence during the trial. Templeton raped the boy on two occasions and the boy was also forced to engage in sexual touching and oral sex on her. In a victim impact statement, he said: “I feel an overwhelming sense of shame and loss after 40 years. “It is impossible to quantify the damage the defendant has done to me and my family.” He added that he had felt “confused” after the abuse had taken place and had thought about taking his own life. Templeton has a previous conviction for similar offences including four counts of indecent assault and three charges of inciting gross indecency with a child. Sol Hartley for Templeton asked the court to take into account the fact that his client had been caring for her 90-year-old partner before she was remanded in custody. She also has her own health issues, her barrister added. “The defendant knows that there is a significant risk that she will die in prison,” Mr Hartley told the court. Judge Celia Hughes said to Templeton: “These offences have had a profound psychological effect on your victim. “There was a significant disparity in age. “You were wholeheartedly disbelieved by the jury in Newport who convicted you unanimously. “You exploited his innocence for your own sexual pleasure.” She added that the defendant has expressed “no remorse” for what she had done. Templeton, formerly of Ballyrainey Road, Comber, Newtownards, near Belfast was jailed for three years and nine months. She will have to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
