The Lakers Mavericks trade was clearly not a basketball move. It was a political/economic move related to the new owners’ investment goal (casino legislation and license). We will find this out pretty soon. The body language in the @NicoHarrisonGM Jason Kid presser (I taught non verbal communication for ten years) was clearly showing that this was not their doing. Uncomfortable jokes, “I dont want to be here” faces and bodies were visible on both of them. Nico did not own this as the decision maker but as his role implies, that of a manager. He was told to unload @luka7doncic and he knew that making this public, any deal would be killed by the fanbase before it would be announced. Therefore, it had to be done like this. The story how this started over coffee was a lie, and “defenses” win championships was a lie. They know him for six years now and that argument had to be used before if that was the case. However, he had to take the lead as if he was the one to come up with it. Luka is not just another player. He is a movement. For the fanbase it was not about winning championships, it was about writing the story together. It does not matter if Mavs win a championship now because it will be without him. I dont feel sorry for @luka7doncic because he has not chosen basketball, basketball has chosen him. He will write next chapters wherever he is and we will be there to read them with him. He should not be mad at Kidd, Harrison or any other member of the organization because its their loss, and ir does not suit his character. I feel sorry for Kai who finally found new peace with his hermano, I feel sorry for Lively who just found a new family, I feel sorry for Klay who came to Dallas to play with Luka. I feel sorry for Kid who will not coach Luka anymore. Luka needs to see it from this perspective. He lost some money that he will make up, but they lost more than him. As for Harrison, he is the one who has to deal with negative thoughts and curses from around the world. Wish him the best, as for the rest of his life he will be known as the guy who gave up Luka. Luka will be great, but should not forget his Dallas Family. I am sure they will be rooting for him, wherever he is. His childish jokes and happinnes, his angry face antics, his magic moves, and his constant complaining to the referees will light up faces everywhere he goes. And we will wake up in the middle of the night to watch him do his thing @Mavs_FFL @kyriemavs
