@ryxcommar the option that works better in a build pipeline would be to do a multistage build with one stage to install and copy the resulting venv into a clean image

@ryxcommar there are two approaches you can take to speeding up pip in docker, depending on if you're building locally or as part of a build pipeline, you can just use
"RUN --mount=type=cache,target=/root/.cache/pip pip install -r requirements.txt"
and you'll have an external cache

I just swapped a Docker image from "pip install --no-cache-dir -r requirements.txt" to "uv pip install --no-cache -r requirements.txt" and the build time went from 67.8s to 15.4s. Absolutely insane.

@keccers there are several people who incorrectly think that my gmail address is their gmail address. I religiously hit the spam button ( and use "report and unsubscribe") on anything I didn't explicitly sign up for and it's kept most of the junk in my spam folder.
