This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

I voted "NO" on school vouchers in the House. As Governor, I will stop the vouchers in Tennessee. The taxpayer should not be funding school vouchers for families that can afford to send their children to private school. Full-Stop.

HR: We lost the employee today. Manager: What happened? HR: He resigned immediately. Manager: Over a desktop background? HR: Yes. Manager: That makes no sense. It was a simple policy issue. HR: It was not simple to him. Manager: He changed the company wallpaper to a family photo at the beach. HR: Yes, and when I asked him why, he said it motivated him during long hours. Manager: Personal images dilute brand immersion. HR: It was a desktop background, not a public campaign. Manager: Rules are rules. Company devices should reflect company identity. HR: He told us it was not hurting anyone. Manager: That is why I reset it remotely and restored the company logo. HR: And then you updated his file with โ€œpotential loyalty drift.โ€ Manager: I was documenting a concern. HR: He understood it differently. He felt the company had a problem with basic humanity. Manager: It was just a background. HR: Exactly. And if even that much personal space is treated like disloyalty, employees start to see what kind of culture they are in. Manager: How did he resign without a back up job? That's a red flag. HR: When employees leave without even having a backup job, it is usually a red flag about the company, not the employee.
