Tonight I finally put my pen down for a rest. Here is a young Nature Boy, cheekily pulling faces at the camera. Little did I know the journey I had ahead of me. The challenges, the wonderful people to meet, & the beauty to discover. I can't wait to share this story with you all.

There was a certain irony to my final ever exam question being about wildlife migration. Fittingly, having talked about Wood Warblers, we then saw this lone male on the way to Bempton <24h later. A beautiful song & bird, which we spent an hour admiring. My 🔊 + @AlainChen2's 📹

Enjoyed listening to the Great Reed Warbler at Ouse Fen RSPB yesterday, as it crashed its way around the reeds. Though only seen well on a handful of occasions, it rarely stopped singing for long. Worthwhile revision break 🔊⬇️ @CambsBirdClub @BirdGuides @SoundApproachUK

The sonic world of nocturnal migration is fascinating. It shines a light on the unknown & lets you hear birds in an out of place context. Here is a Coot migrating along the Ballycotton cliffs @ 00:25am. Hear the crashing waves & echo of its calls bounce off the cliffs as it goes.

Dawn chorus from the sea-cliffs. Life abounds amidst the pounding waves of our Atlantic Ocean. Wrens and Stonechats bring melody to the salty air. Ravens croak from their nest ledge as Rock Pipits tumble in song from a height. Relax to a 15min version: tinyurl.com/26hh95we

Loving these. Magnus and indeed the Sound Approach were instrumental in me starting up sound recording some years back. I'd highly recommend following them and reading their stunning books which are packed full of amazing stories and sounds.
