SSD joins schools across the nation to celebrate school social workers during #NationalSchoolSocialWorkerWeek, March 8-12. This special week is dedicated to the contributions social workers make to assisting students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The main SSD and District’s school websites were recently redesigned to better meet the needs of those we serve. Take a peek at the new website and the various features and resources, along with a quick video tour in the Superintendent’s blog: ssdmo.org/updates

Due to inclement weather, SSD's schools, sites and programs, including SSD Central Office, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 9. All classes for both virtual and in-person students have been cancelled. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight will still be held.

Welding instructor Jim Sheppard is ensuring students are ready to hit the ground running when they return for in-person learning in January.

SSD’s Board of Education has approved a plan for reopening SSD schools for students and staff. South Tech will begin Phase 1 on January 19. Phase 1 is a hybrid learning mode in which students will attend in-person learning one day per week. (1/2)

At the SSD Board of Education meeting, we gave a presentation on proposed reopening phases for when SSD schools are able to reopen safely. No dates or timelines have been set for schools to reopen for students. Read more about our current planning here: ssdmo.org/updates

REMINDER: Classes for South Tech students begin on Aug. 24. Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!

When you visit southtechnical.org, you’ll notice that we’ve made some changes. From a new calendar feature to more detailed program information, we hope the new site is easier to navigate to the things that matter most to you.

We know this change to 100% virtual learning will impact the plans a number of families have made. However, it does not change SSD’s commitment to each student’s success.

The SSD Board of Education approved the change at a special meeting on Monday evening. The first day of school will still be Monday, August 24. For more information and details visit our website: ssdmo.org/return.html
