My dear and wonderful friends, I would like to share these words with you that were written to me by a very dear friend. "If you go to Gaza today, the families, even in tents, will make you a meal... and they will try to find food for you. They will talk kindly about their own situation, and they will not complain primarily about their suffering, because these are high-class people, these are highly educated people. And for those who are interested about knowledge, they will know that the Palestinian people have always been the most educated people in the Middle East. You know, they have national exams at the high school and elementary school level. I happen to know a large number of families in Gaza, whom I love very much. One of these families had their house bombed twice during the occupation and the last attack, and they lost 60% of their family members. However, they still have young people, and one of their daughters actually graduated from high school and was the first in her area. Despite the fact that their house was bombed twice, her parents were killed, and her brothers were killed, Lana was able to study, move forward, and survive the hardship of the siege, the occupation, the lack of food, the lack of water, and the lack of electricity. With the unconditional support of her family, she continued studying and achieved the best result in the national tests out of everyone in her area. So yes, there is suffering in Gaza, but I have another word for Gaza, which is: respect and resilience. You know that the Palestinians have a name for it, it is called “steadfastness”; this endless ability to endure hardships without surrender.
