Fundamental analysis -- this is what I think You don't get any profit from fundamental analysis. You get profit from buying and selling. So, why pretend with the appearance when you can go right to the reality of price and analyze and trade it better Price is king You can learn more about fundamentals from price than you can be watching @business and @CNBC (Clown News Broadcasting Circus) and reading the WSJ

You are right, Peter. Fundamental analysis cannot work because of the information edge. Especially with the democratisation of information with AI. Everything is already in the price. When it can work. 2 situations, and both have to go hand in hand - Time arbitrage: You sense that the price action is looking at short-term effects (1-3 years), and if you have a long enough time horizon, let's say ten years or so, then these things will balance out. - Behavioural edge: You can handle wild swings emotionally better than other people. If you can, and if you realise that the price action is because of short-termism, then you need to have the ability to wait it out for long periods of time, which is extremely hard. Even when you do this, you will be wrong 7 out of 10 times. But the convexity of returns ensures that you make so much money from the 3 you got right than the 7 you got wrong. But in practice, this is almost impossible for investors to follow. It is soul-destroying, and hence you see very, very few successful fundamental long-term investors.

@PeterLBrandt Chart trading is game hunting... Fundamental trading is like crop farming. Chart trading like race car driving, fundamental trading like truck driving. That's kinda the thesis I m building, have no idea if it's right.
