We're kicking off National Distracted Driving Awareness Month with a reminder that even a momentary distraction behind the wheel can be deadly. We’re also releasing early estimates for 2025 traffic fatalities. While we’re encouraged by a projected nearly 7% decline from 2024 — the fifth-largest decrease since NHTSA began FARS in 1975 — this progress isn’t enough. We must keep working together to reduce roadway deaths and serious injuries.
