Instead, Ukraine got hollow promises, a broken Budapest Memorandum, and eventually a full-scale invasion. Not just Ukraine’s mistake - the failure belongs to every nuclear signatory that asked Kyiv to disarm and then failed to provide the security umbrella it was promised. If you demand disarmament, you owe real protection. Maybe even a nuclear umbrella.
