@eliseannallen @Pontifex It's super confusing. The term used to be "Oriental Orthodox" but I think that's not preferred. "Miaphysite" or "Tewahedo" churches are terms I've heard. I wouldn't know this at all but now I teach students from this tradition in Canada catholic school!🤯

I think you might need a clarification in this article: the Coptic Orthodox church is not an "eastern Orthodox" church in the sense it is not in communion with Constantinople or Moscow Eastern Orthodox churchs
