@jkbdts @taco_talks No, you're getting confused on the core of the issue. Per God's command, we know what harm is and why it's wrong, because there is an authority above our opinion. Per atheism, that authority doesn't exist, so don't have a way to say harm is bad except for opinion.

Well, Lot offered his daughters to be raped... super good of him, definitely the guy to spare. And no, the daughters weren't rapist yet, but if they were willing to rape their father... who knows what they did while living in Sodom 🤷‍♂️ Why didn't God smite them after they committed rape? If he was hell bent on wiping out every evil person from Sodom for the evil they were doing, why stop there?

@taco_talks "As a Christian I have a foundation to justify why I think harm is bad".... And that is...?

@easynowbessie @D_Preacher_1 So... You punish evil by killing an innocent man? I don't understand. Why did God choose decide the wages of sin would be death? Why are all sins equally deserving of the same punishment?

In 1 Samuel 15:3, God commands killing infants and animals. Infants. Let that sink in. And people say atheists have no morality.

God chose to save Lot, the guy who offered his daughters to be raped: Genesis 19:8 NRSVUE [8] Look, I have two daughters who have not known a man; let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please; only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.” And he chose to save the daughters who he knew would rape their father...

@Tim0riginal @LarsTheBadMan @MelloFelicia1 First of all - the DESI study doesn't say exactly what you described. What it is talking about is pointing to a tension with the standard model (ΛCDM). That's it. Could be expansion slowing or a we need a refinement of the model itself You're overreaching.

@Tim0riginal @D_Preacher_1 I disagree. I think Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was maximally just as evil was punished, but maximally merciful because He took our place.

Sometimes I have fun with debate, other times I dig deep and look for truth. Depends on who I'm talking to, this is X afterall. You seemed like an intelgent person who could explain what I don't understand about God but that doesn't seem to be the case. No I don't debate in live spaces. I can barely articulate my thoughts in written format lol. Do you? I'd watch you debate.

I challenge my presupositions by looking for alternative explanations, and you refuse to provide any. I didn't threaten my own damnation lol. In your worldview I'm going to hell unless I can figure out a way to believe in this God concept of yours but you wont even try to explain anything to me. Useless.

@Tim0riginal @darwintojesus Says the dude who can’t imagine challenging his own presuppositions and threatens his own damnation when asked to do so. lol Consider you may be wrong about your presuppositions and then approach Christianity with that mindset. That’s all am trying to communicate.
