๐จ Arturo Vidal on Cristiano Ronaldo appearing to avoid a question about Lionel Messi before saying "Mbappรฉ also scored":
๐ฃ โI found that reaction very strange. If you didn't want to talk about Messi, then just say it and move on. But if you're saying 'Mbappรฉ also scored' when nobody even asked about Mbappรฉ, then clearly the question got under your skin more than it should have.
Let's be honest, Messi's name has never been a problem before. We've all seen Ronaldo react to stories about Messi, leave comments, put emojis on posts and involve himself in conversations related to him. So why suddenly act like you don't want to hear his name?.
The reality is that Messi is still making history. He's still breaking records, still winning things and still showing the world why he's one of the greatest footballers ever. Of course journalists are going to ask questions about him. That's football.
What I don't understand is why a simple question seemed to trigger that reaction. Nobody insulted him. Nobody disrespected him. It was just a question about another great player. If that is enough to make you uncomfortable, then people are naturally going to wonder why.
Maybe he's tired of the comparisons, but when you bring up Mbappรฉ out of nowhere after being asked about Messi, it doesn't look like someone who isn't bothered. It looks like someone trying to avoid the subject completely.
For me, if you're truly not affected by something, you either answer the question or ignore it. You don't start mentioning other players. The moment he brought up Mbappรฉ, he made the situation look bigger than it actually was.
This keeps the Mbappรฉ point front and center, which is probably the strongest argument in the original post and sounds more like the kind of confrontational jab Vidal would make.โ
