It is with deep sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that Valerie has passed away. She faced Parkinson’s disease with incredible courage and compassion, never once complaining. She lived life to the fullest and what a magnificent life it was. gofund.me/68a845e42

I say this as someone who doesn't "love" Miami Vice; this is the kind of reductive half-assed reading critics always apply to anything that has "style". No, the show isn't about artifice...at all.

This is the anime mindset in distilled form, even the way it characterizes the perceived counterargument. But it also explains why almost all my favorite anime things are movies and like 6-episode OVAs. I don't have all the time in the world to be a proper weeb.

A dislike of filler is a weak minded attitude. Enjoy spending time living in a world with its characters and stop treating shows like a narrative checklist.

We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sam Kieth. From The Maxx to his work across comics, Sam brought a completely unique look and voice to the industry. His art was raw and unmistakably his. Sam's influence will be felt for generations. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans.

My son was hit by a car yesterday. We’re going to find out if he wakes up in a couple of hours. Brain surgery. Everything feels very odd, and I can’t sleep.

The movies supercede the novels cause nobody reads. I'd argue Traumanovelle (Eyes Wide Shut), The Short Timers (Full Metal Jacket), Paths of Glory, Clockwork Orange, and Barry Lyndon are on par with the movies. People just don't know it cause they ain't read em

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Philip Castle. Few collaborations in cinema are as visually iconic as Philip Castle and Stanley Kubrick. Castle’s airbrush artistry gave unforgettable shape to Kubrick’s vision - the iconic poster of #AClockworkOrange and the haunting imagery of #FullMetalJacket remain engrained in cinematic art.
