@Alacrious Best is to make a support ticket. If your support expired it would grey out like that. Check your prefs and see what it says. There is R6 now. Time to upgrade!

WIP. name is not final. nothing is final. its fun. it's a procedural greebler i guess? Works great with mograph. The idea was to add "stuff" to my osm building extrusions. works pretty well so far, but wondering off into sci-fi looking stuffs :) some textures on it and it would look ace !

I Did a lot of work on importing via the data manager.
On WIN, there is now a bridge to your local QGIS install. I use this bridge to automatically reproject height data. I also rebuilt a lot of the custom layer code. Much faster+better, allowing much larger height height maps (as much as can fit in RAM basically). Results are getting crazy good IMO. it is a never ending job to cover as many bases as possible. I also added KML support for tracks/routes and pins.
To get the detail as in the first image, you can't really do that with Raw height data(unless you have data at 1m or less), so the trick is to throw an image in to bump and abuse that for some hyper detail.

Continuing this journey into figuring out which parts on a seemingly random mess of a model, are a leaf and which is is a branch or trunk. Who needs AI when you can make your code do magic :) I have it at the point where I can throw it at any tree model from the asset library and it will do something half way sensible with it. That's borderline rocket science cos those assets area a mess when you start looking close, and try to do something with them.

RE: that leaf deformer thingy is looking useful.Good for grass/trees and wot not.
brings static meshes to life. easy to use for tree's grass ,etc.

You can throw any material at the Globe plane, stacking for water reflections clouds and what not. Anything with an aspect of 2/1 will just work.
I released R6. Still getting docs sorted on the helpdesk.

RE: That willow tree from the assets lib.
it's ~700k polys, which is a bit too much for C4D to update smoothly via deformer. as a single object, it does ~12FPS.
I made a split generator which splits leaves into lots of smaller clusters. The deformer is then able to process
those smaller objects much faster in parallel, rather than waiting for one big object to finish and update.
Just a test, but this is doing ~250k leaves, at 90FPS, so it is defo workable.

RE: My ReOrder deformer, side project.
This is not what it seems to be, it is doing far more than is apparently clear.
Reorder changes the order of polygons on your mesh.
It's trim slider changes the count on the new resulting mesh. The main work however, is that reordering of the mesh.
The order of your polygons is always the product of the tools you used to make them. It is like a finger print. you don't know it is there. it tells the story of how the model was put together.
That fingerprint is usually a mess, unless the construction was 100% procedurally built. That fingerprint reveals how a model was put together.
What Reorder does, is completely remap the order of your mesh, removing all trace of the tools and process used to create the final topology.
The end result looks the same. But is very differently ordered.
In this example(just a car from the maxon asset lib), i just run through the current modes and show what they do to the order of everything in the model. Every single model I have ever looked at, shows the same construction fingerprint.
It is great with lots of objects as it can process each item individually, but you can also connect everything, and it will do a fine job sorting things out.
IMO, this is not only great for LOD and animating things, it is also a no brainer for cleaning up any kind of asset.
