According to ACIS, the WPC high of 108 yesterday near North Shore, California may tie a new National March High Temperature Record.

Earliest date >=105 on record is April 20th 1989, more than a month out! Average is May 31!!

Storms are getting bigger, and this one is a good example of that. Winter Storm Iona is causing outages from Texas to Maine from multiple hazards. Northern Michigan saw an ice storm. Heavy snowfall was generally not a problem being dry and cold. Widespread gradient winds and convective winds (thunderstorms) have caused outages in other affected states. This storm is not done yet - it's likely to cause additional outages as it moves east.

In Phoenix, Arizona, temperatures could reach an unbelievable 107°F (+42°C) on Friday. If that verifies, it would break the record for the earliest occurrence of 107°F since records began in 1895, pulverising the previous record by a whopping 44 days. This is totally bonkers.
