Petit rappel : Vitinha, numéro 6 regista donc meneur de jeu reculé, a battu le record de passes sur un match de Coupe du monde. Lors de cette rencontre, il a également réussi 11 longs ballons sur 13, complété 23 passes dans le dernier tiers, réussi son unique dribble, il a coupé plusieurs lignes de passes et réalisé 4 récupérations ayant permis à son équipe de faire progresser le jeu. Autrement dit, il a parfaitement rempli son rôle. Malheureusement, plusieurs de ses coéquipiers, notamment Bruno Fernandes, João Cancelo et surtout Bernardo Silva, n’ont pas été à la hauteur lors de ce match. À l’inverse, Ronaldo a livré une très bonne prestation dans le jeu et a malheureusement manqué de réussite devant les cages.

Balde in 24/25 was special and I’m hearing no revisionism on that. Our best defender in build-up, those performances vs Bayern, Benfica, Madrid etc were insane. He was also a huge reason Flick could confidently play such a high line, his recovery speed was ridiculous.
