I made some big progress in material science but intentionally wrote all my research notes in gibberish so it couldn't be recreated without me. I was right to do so because weapons companies got very interested and I had to burn the notes after they offered millions in funding

Is there a name for the writing trope where the guy who discovered a fantastical thing never just straightforwardly explains what it is and all of his "notes" or "research materials" left behind are just weird gibberish to give the plot suspense/a puzzle element

@Horrorlogium away from his father's legacy and towards something New. that being said, I'm hoping that Part 2 opens with a new perspective character for a while (hiyuki!!! or hiruhiko!!!) to let Chihiro's development occur in the background for a while

@Horrorlogium thank you!!! this is high praise. I do wonder how we'll see their relationship shift in Part 2. I imagine part of the reason Shiba is one of the focal points of the flashback is to explain some how he and Chihiro will relate differently as Chihiro strikes a new path
