The Crab Nebula was photographed in 1999 by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2). The Crab Nebula is a famous supernova remnant located about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.
The Crab Nebula is the result of the explosion of a massive star, which was observed as a supernova by Chinese astronomers in 1054 AD.
At the center of the nebula is a rapidly rotating neutron star called the Crab Pulsar, which rotates about 30 times per second and powers the expansion of the nebula. The nebula is filled with complex filaments of gas and dust, which are expanding outwards, driven by the energy of the central pulsar. The orange filaments are mainly hydrogen, while the inner blue parts indicate neutral oxygen. The image includes a scale bar indicating that the visible structure spans about 4 light-years. Imaging data: The colors in the image are determined based on data collected from specific filters (F502N, F547M, F631N, F673N), which capture light emitted by different chemical elements.

Why does Saturn have a ring system?
The rings likely formed as a result of Saturn's successive absorption of its moons.
Calculations show that after Saturn's formation, several large moons orbited Saturn. Gradually, due to gravitational influence, these moons "fell" into Saturn's interior one after another.
As they deviated from their orbits and entered a spiral trajectory, the moons were destroyed. The light icy components of these celestial bodies remained in space, while the heavier mineral components of the celestial bodies were attracted to the planet.
