The Bury St Edmunds #Chess Congress is open for entries. Actually we've been open for around two weeks ... and we're already at 60+ entrants, with a maximum capacity of 118. You can join via bsecongress.org.

An innovation this year was our big display pulling pairing, results and standings "near live" from chess-results.com. Seemed to go down well, though I'm hoping we can make it even better next time.

The Pert dynasty occupy boards 1 to 3 in the final round at the Bury St Edmunds Congress. IM Richard Pert on Bd1, WCM Nina Pert on Bd2 and Max Pert, just visible on the right, on Bd3.

IM Alan Merry took almost 4 hours to overcome the defenses of impressive 9-year-old Supratit Banerjee in round 3 of the Bury St Edmunds Congress. Banerjee is certainly one to watch. @ecfchess

We also presented Bob Jones with the @ecfchess President's Award for Services to Chess. Though the trophy he's holding here is only a "stand in" awarded some years ago to the Stowmarket Chess Club who were the ECF Club of the Year, largely thanks to Bob's efforts, back in 1988.
