Bindi Irwin, daughter of the famed 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, posted a heartbreaking life update. She revealed her battle with endometriosis, detailing multiple surgeries and the ongoing fight for better women's health awareness. She said in the post that doctors have removed more than 50 endometriosis lesions from her body since early 2023. She also had a chocolate cyst taken out that was sticking her ovary to her side, along with an appendectomy and hernia repair. But here's the part where I'm sure many of you will relate. She went years where doctors didn't believe her. Irwin explained she dealt with severe, constant pain for a full decade before getting a proper diagnosis. Doctors had brushed it off as something women just have to live with, leaving her feeling weak and insecure as a teen and young adult. She described being trapped in her own body during that time. This comes as March, designated Endometriosis Awareness Month, draws to a close. In her post, Irwin called on people to keep the invisible condition in mind year-round and show compassion to the millions affected. She stressed that raising awareness for endometriosis and women's health overall can stop others from suffering quietly.

Surgery does help symptoms, but in a lot of cases, symptoms do come back, sometimes within a year or two. Within a year I was experiencing old and new symptoms, proving that endo returns and spreads, like cancer

I knew this developed over time. Amanda has never had a man defend her and as soon as West did this, she looked at him differently from that point forward. @_AnonHater_ It’s not 100% fixable, it’s grief. Our sweet babies can leave a big hole when gone, sometimes bigger than losing a human. Treat your grief like you would anyone else, give yourself grace and allow yourself to feel. It will one day get a little easier, I promise

This past weekend I did some home checks on rescues that we’ve rehomed. One of our oldest rescues was finally rehomed a few months ago. Today I was furious to find him chained up outside, soaking wet. I asked how long he had been tied up outside and was told, “oh not long”. They lied. He has mange, numerous sores, and smelled horrible. This is a dog that had been left outside long term, likely from the day he was adopted. I had a copy of the contract with their signatures and told them I was taking the dog back into the rescue. This is going to take a lot of work to get this 10 yr old dog back to his prior state of health. If you aren’t prepared to care for a dog then don’t get one. For all the normal people out there, if you aren’t able to rescue a dog, then give of your resources and donate supplies or financially. I’m not asking you to give to my rescue, blueskiesanimalrescue.com - just give. To any rescue. They’re all deserving.
