I finished residency yesterday morning at 6 am. I’ve learned so much in this place over the last 3 years, and I’ve worked with some truly incredible people. I’m alone in this picture but countless friends and mentors got me to this point.

@Rockurownium Not EM here but strong agree to all the homies above on how clutch this can be. It’s crucial though that preceptors understand paramedic education and goals - I’ve seen this go awry when preceptors don’t consider the paramedic learning model and illness scripts.

@CyrusTW My point is that there isn't much in the literature about pacing at all that I've seen.
At what mA do we get capture? How successful are paramedics at TCP? In what patients does it provide more benefit? How often do we think we get it when we don't.

I am absolutely baffled at the lack of evidence for external pacing.
I have a 2006 systematic review and a 2020 AHA guideline that references that review.
No wonder AHA says it's a Class 2b recommendation in symptomatic bradycardia
