That “78% indirect costs” figure? It’s not corruption. It’s compliance, lab infrastructure, & keeping research safe, ethical, & up to standard. You can’t do brain surgery in a WeWork, or run high-stakes research w/o support systems. Reform is fine—but let’s start with facts.

In the dead of night, House Republicans started the Rules Committee meeting to try and send Trump’s Tax Scam Bill to the House floor— so Americans wouldn’t see what they’re doing. @HouseDemocrats have been here since last night to shine a light on how harmful this bill is for hardworking Americans.

As I asked my House Republican colleagues at 3:00 am — why did they schedule a hearing on their reckless budget bill in the dead of the night? Because they can’t defend it.
