Have learned the @Lions are picking up the 5th year option on RB Jahmyr Gibbs. They will not be picking up the 5th year option on LB Jack Campbell. W/ that number near 22 million, they will look to work out a long term deal that makes sense for both sides.

Ravens are signing former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia to a three-year deal, per source. Pavia was supposed to try out this weekend, but the Ravens signed him in advance.

Added context: Alec decided this about a month ago. He always wanted to be a GM but will now go into finance. He was considered for the Dolphins GM job that went to Jon-Eric Sullivan back in January.

After 17 years with the #Eagles organization, assistant general manager Alec Halaby has decided to step away to start a new professional chapter of his career, per me and @MikeGarafolo. The personnel executive was a key contributor to both Eagles Super Bowl championships.

After 4 seasons on staff w/the #Eagles, Ben Ijalana is seeking new opportunities in scouting. A former #NFL OL (#Colts, #Jets, #Jaguars), Ben roamed the NE for PHI for 3 seasons. He also has prior scouting experience w/the #Patriots.

@mallegiance_ @asbestosman8 Kwesi getting fired may have sunk the chances of another pure analytics exec like Halaby becoming a GM. Once that move happened, he may have felt his time was up & decided to step away

@asbestosman8 Idk, I would like to assume he's getting a GM job but that would've been announced with the departure. Maybe retiring from the sports world? Was a good run anyways.

My honest take on the Eagles draft is that it was bizarre (don’t get mad yet): Makai Lemon is a good player but it’s hard to imagine a worse fit. Historically, Hurts waits until players come open until he pulls the trigger — most of Lemon’s best plays were in tight coverage (and over the middle, where Hurts has not targeted often). Eli Stowers is essentially a power slot and cannot block inline at all. If he’s on the field with Goedert, it’s essentially a fake 12 personnel and will be interesting to see if teams match with Base or just stay in Nickel. Markel Bell is obviously historically large and looks solid in protection, but did not show much power in the run game and has small hands for his frame, which neutralizes a lot of his upside in the run game. With how devoid talent was at the back end of the draft, not sure any of the last 5 guys have a realistic chance of making an impact in the near future (not something I blame Eagles for). Greenard is an awesome get, but that trade could’ve happened at any time, it just so happened that it happened during the Draft, making fans feel like he was part of the class. Sean Mannion needs to be a wizard to pull this off. (now you can get mad)

Kwesi might've set "analytics"-based GM hires back for a long time. I wonder if Halaby felt like his chances at being the lead exec for a team were slim to none & decided to pursue a different path

Sources: the Steelers placed the rare UFA tender on Aaron Rodgers, meaning that he can accept a 10 percent raise off last year’s salary, which would pay him about $15 million this season. As another condition of the tender, Rodgers would only be able to sign with the Steelers once training camp begins.

I agree execution was a big problem, but what Stout is describing sounds more like poor play sequencing Bad execution to me has more to do w/ lack of detail (which is also a HC & offensive staff problem) than "playcalling". Semantics, I know
Ari Meirov@MySportsUpdate

Former #Eagles OL coach Jeff Stoutland on what went wrong in 2025: “It’s execution. It’s calling the right play at the right time and not running bad plays into bad defenses. It ain't that hard.” (🎥 @newheightshow)
