I’m going to be honest, I definitely lost a bit of myself today, but the reason I’m still here is because all 7 deserve to have a choice and express themselves without their company running them into the ground. I’m starting to doubt if Heeseung even wants to be back in the group but for me it was never just about bringing Heeseung back. The main reason for everything has always been the company, who overworked their artists to the bone like they’re merely their cash cows, gave them no rest, no sleep, no freedom for themselves. It’s normal for Heeseung to get fed up with it and it’s normal to wish for something better. For 6 years we sat and watched how Belift staff physically pushed and dragged Sunoo around, how they made fun of Jay’s insecurities in public videos, how they kept excluding members and covering their faces in brand deals, how they imposed impossible standards onto Sunghoon’s appeareance, how they made Heeseung run back and forth from the airport to the company building, how they allowed sasaengs to break into their dorm, steal the members’ packages, how they provided no security or comfort, no bodyguards at the airport, leaving a member to run for his life through a busy airport with zombies running after him, how they had no problem releasing random merch where one or two members isn’t even visible, how even today they’re still not allowing the members to accept brand deals that would benefit them and they just constantly sabotage their careers just to keep them under their foot. I truly regret not speaking up about it sooner. It got so bad that a member literally had to leave, because being in the group felt so restricting and suffocating that he’d been burnt out for months with no possibility of recovering mentally, no possibility of releasing his own work. I regret not speaking up because they’ve been suffering for years while we sat and did nothing, that we heard a bunch of teenagers complain that they felt they were going to die because they were so exhausted and we still brushed it aside. It’s not normal. Whether Heeseung wants to come back or not doesn’t change the fact that all members had their own dreams about releasing their own songs, showing Engenes their true selves and writing their own ideas down, but BELIFT LAB never gave them that freedom. Belift chose money over the well-being of their artists, mental and physical. That doesn’t change just because half of the fandom is choosing to ignore it now or pretend it never happened. It happened and it will keep happening if we stop speaking up about it. They all deserve creative freedom like all other idols before them had. Maybe it’s easy for me to stay because I truly love all 7 unconditionally and wish the best for all of them no matter what, but if you guys chose to speak up for Hee please speak up for our other members as well. Again, Heeseung might want to come back or he might not want to, but there’s 6 other members to look out for that suffered enough. Our goal has always been demanding proper treatment for all, because they are human beings with their own thoughts and ideas, not the company’s cash cows. So please move forward for all of them, they deserve so much better than running for their lives in random airports because the company offered them zero protection all these years. As for Heeseung’s departure, there were 1000 other ways to handle it that didn’t include running ours and our members’ mental healths into the ground but they still chose to make it as painful as possible and not even promote Heeseung properly after everything. Belift deserves to feel the consequences of mistreating their artists to this extent and I truly hope you guys are still willing to call them out for it because nothing’s normal and clear in this situation no matter how much you think about it. It’s always been about fair treatment for all 7 members, because none of them were ever treated right and fair. They all deserve to have A CHOICE.
