‘Of Mice and Men’. 🐭🙎🏻‍♂️ It was 2012 and we had to read and watch both versions of the movie (1930s and 1990s) for GCSE English. 😭 It was brutal, but the author captured the desperate times so well, minus the racism. 😒

I also vaguely remember calling the office of the then-president of the United States, Barack Obama, to voice my concern for the civil war in Sri Lanka and for a immediate ceasefire. I didn’t get through to the president obviously, but to someone in the White House.

It was April/May 2009. I remember attending the protests at Westminster to call for a ceasefire and to end the ongoing civil war in Sri Lanka. 14 years later. War might have ended, but there still are unanswered questions!
