if you look at the comments of any woman showing their body they are overrun with negativity. Many of them are bots btw. All that to say, eating disorders are multimodal in cause, much of the dopamine that is felt in purging/body dysmorphic self-appraisal reflects the same circuitry lit up in substance use addiction/euphoria -- before ecen considering the environmental/societal pressure to fit some standard thats doesnt actually exist and is completely about negging and coercion.
